In the summer of 2014, Scott Evans Brand + Design Communications was selected, on a by-project basis, to provide creative services for the Bell and Howell marketing team, in which I served as Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications.
In no time, Scott Evans (owner of the firm), became known as our “de facto Creative Director.” His superior creative excellence, combined with a solid understanding of digital marketing practices, made him the perfect content-creation addition to our team.
What I didn’t know (but quickly discovered) was that Scott possesses a vast depth of offerings well beyond that of the traditional creative director. Along with the digital marketing experience, he has a relentless passion for branding excellence, is highly strategic and analytical in his thinking, and has a unique flair for establishing collaborative partnerships (be it with the CEO or the summer intern), to name a few.
Observing this, I subsequently retained Scott’s services and invited him to deepen his involvement with our marketing team. This included a commitment by Scott to spend part of each week on the inside, as a strategic member of the BH marketing team. Scott’s day-to-day interaction with our team served to further solidify his overall and diverse value.
His versatility became a valuable trait as I began to execute my vision for lifting BH into the 21st century digital marketing arena.
I began to place projects directly under Scott’s personal management, i.e. interacting directly with the Bell and Howell product managers, directors, etc. as both creative lead and project manager. I was confident he would represent the marketing team professionally, while also providing the level of responsiveness, flexibility, and attention-to-detail required for success in the fast-paced global marketplace. He did not let me down. In short order, he was building and sustaining relationships with various BH contacts enterprise-wide, all to glowing revues.
Overall, having Scott as part of the BH team has been extremely beneficial. Beyond the attributes mentioned above, he also possesses a great “can do” attitude, has never missed a deadline, and will work when the work needs to be done—always with his unique brand of reassurance that allowed me to rest easy, knowing he would always come through. And he always has. Quick with a smile or a word of encouragement as well, he is the ultimate team player.
In short, Scott is a pleasure to be around. I would highly encourage anybody with the opportunity to work with him, and his company, Scott Evans Brand + Design Communications, to definitely do so!
